CALCULATION GUIDE

How to Calculate Overtime Pay

1. Determine Your Regular Hourly Rate

Use your contractual hourly rate or estimate it from salary and normal paid working hours. The correct legal overtime base may depend on your jurisdiction.

2. Enter Your Overtime Hours

Record overtime hours for each category. Separate hours paid at different multipliers.

3. Select Your Pay Multipliers

A multiplier of 1.5 means 150% of the regular hourly rate. A multiplier of 2.0 means 200%. Select custom for other contractual rates.

4. Calculate Each Category

Multiply hourly rate by multiplier and overtime hours. Add both categories for total overtime pay.

5. Compare Pay Periods

Choose whether your entered hours represent a week, month or year. Other period estimates assume that the overtime pattern repeats consistently.
